Lion's Lair is our block schedule 7th and 8th grade Middle School. Each grade level spends half their day in the Math/Science Block and the other half in the Language Arts/History Block.
7th Grade Enrichment Activities:
- Experience a week at the Nature Bridge Program in the Golden Gate Area
- Participate in Literature Circles - Small group discussions of age-appropriate novels
- Simulate various ancient civilization activities
- Earn "Bonus Checks" to spend at an auction twice a year
- Create various pieces of art integrated with history units of study
- Participate in an individualized math program
- Experience field trips focused on Life Science
- Prepare and present a presentation/research project on renaissance person of choice
- Exploration of Science through Discovery Activities
- Develop Science Fair Project Engineering Innovation / Present at school Science Fair
- Weekly Art Appreciation & Music Appreciation
8th Grade Enrichment Activities
- Participate in Literature Circles - Small group discussions of age-appropriate novels

- Re-enact an escape on the Underground Railroad or film studies of Roots
- Recreate the Constitutional Convention
- Create various pieces of art integrated with history units of study
- Prepare and present a multimedia presentation/research project required for 8th Grade Graduation
- Participate in an individualized math program
- Simulate various events in U.S. History
- Develop Science Fair Project Engineering Innovation / Present at school Science Fair
- Weekly Art Appreciation & Music Appreciation
