Take a Look at Our New Playground!!
The old playground at Linscott Charter School was removed on March 29 to make way for a new and improved playground to serve both Linscott school children and the public.
The new playground, collaboratively sponsored by CaliforniaVolunteers, KaBOOM! and Linscott Charter School is open to the public after school hours and on the weekends.
More than three hundred Watsonville community members helped build the new playground on March 29th. On that day, high school students, college students, Linscott parents, and other community members muscled through not only building the entire new play structure, but also painting three murals, building numerous picnic benches and planter benches, and building a whole new garden area on campus. The build day, just before the celebration of Cesar Chavez Day on March 31, celebrated the life and values of Cesar Chavez.
Linscott Charter School students were instrumental in planning the new playground and many of the students were involved in preparation for the build day, as well as safe activities during build day.
